Mushrif Mall all set to open THE Market in Abu Dhabi, UAE

Abu Dhabi: Mushrif Mall will open its much-awaited fresh food market, THE Market, in Abu Dhabi on 30th April 2014. It will be inaugurated by HH Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister for Culture, Youth and Social Development.
THE Market is the biggest and most technologically advanced fresh food market in the entire Gulf region. The facilities span over 200,000 square feet and will market over 150,000 kilograms of fresh produce daily. It will be divided into 3 distinct categories, i.e., Farmers’ fresh produce (fruit & vegetables), Meat & Poultry, and Seafood.  It will have more than 200 shops selling the freshest products.
With its unique state-of-the-art technology THE Market will offer a cleaner, safer shopping ambiance with efficient waste management and recycling facilities. Commenting on the venture Yusuff Ali M.A., Managing Director of LuLu Group said, “Our goal is to be the ‘fresh food destination of Abu Dhabi’ catering to the local as well as the large multi-ethnic population residing here. With dedicated sections for promoting local produce, we intend to provide a sustainable platform for the development of UAE’s agricultural sector and play our role in promoting and marketing local vegetables and seafood.”
The Farmers’ Produce Hall at THE Market will sell local vegetables, herbs, dates, seasonal fruits and organic items. International fruits and vegetables such as Philippine bananas and pineapples, Thailand’s tropical fruits, Yemen honey, African vegetables, Chinese garlic, Indian mangoes, US citrus, Australian carrots, New Zealand apples and much more would be available too.
The Meat Produce Hall will sell meat such as beef, lamb, chicken, rabbit, and camel including organics. A vast array of fresh international meats such as New Zealand venison, Australian lamb, Pakistan beef, Indian lamb, and more will also be available.
The Fish Hall will showcase the best of local fresh UAE fish such as Hamour, Sheri and King Fish. Locally grown Caspian can also be bought here. Complimenting the local catch is a feast of international seafood like Omani prawns and lobster, Pacific tuna, Australian barramundi, and Mediterranean fish species. A live seafood section will be selling local fish, organic fish, international fish as well as scallops, oysters, prawns, lobsters, crabs, mussels, clams and more.
