LuLu Hypermarket - Abu Dhabi region receives certification for highest standards of health & safety management systems

Abu Dhabi: By authorization from AD EHS Center (OSHAD), The Abu Dhabi Food Control authority (ADFCA) has awarded EHSMS (Environment Health Safety Management System) approval certificate for the successful development of the management system in these outlets of LuLu Hypermarket – Khalidiyah Mall, Madinat Zayed, Mushrif Mall, Capital Mall and Baniyas. The certificates has been presented by Tariq Al Hammadi, Corporate System & Quality Director, and Khalifa Al Ali, Strategy & Performance Executive Director, to AbuBak’r T.P., Regional Director of LuLu Hypermarket – Abu Dhabi region, during a function held at ADFCA Head Office in Abu Dhabi. Ajay Kumar, Regional Manager of LuLu Hypermarket - Abu Dhabi, is also seen.

On 16th June 2009, Decree No. (42) of 2009 concerning the Environment, Health and Safety Management System in Abu Dhabi Emirate, was issued by the Crown Prince, Chairman of the Executive Council. This is a very important step forward for the food sector, to ensure not only the health, safety and welfare of all who work in the industry, but also the customers and other key stakeholders.

This EHS management system is developed by integrating the international standards ISO 9001, 14001, 18001, 19011 & 31000. Through commitment to system implementation, any entity can manage all its relevant aspects which improves the occupational and community health and safety, the business efficiency, reduced corporate risk and liabilities, sustainable development, natural resource conservation and utilization and so on.
   
LuLu Hypermarket is the only hypermarket chain which is first in position, in getting EHSMS approval in the retail sector. ADFCA has highlighted and appreciated LuLu for the management commitment for developing and implementing EHS management system throughout its hypermarkets. As of mid 2015, LuLu has 6 EHS approved hypermarkets all over Abu Dhabi region.
