The much-awaited inauguration of Ruwais Mall was held on 29th January 2014. Spread across 300,000 sq. ft, the mall hosts more than 100 top shopping and leisure brands. In addition to this, the mall has a four-screen multiplex, amusement centre, LuLu Hypermarket spread across two levels, a food court and utility services. An ice skating rink will also be functional soon. There is parking facility for over 900 vehicles.
With the opening of Ruwais Mall, residents of Ruwais and nearby areas will no longer have to travel all the way to Abu Dhabi for shopping. Commenting on the new project Yusuff Ali said, "This mall is part of our policy of extending our footprint to the western regions of Abu Dhabi. Now the residents of Ruwais, Gayathi, and Madinat Zayed, need not travel far to enjoy world-class shopping. They can get everything from daily groceries and food products to household, electronic, fashion and lifestyle products under one roof."
Built by the ADNOC authorities, Ruwais Mall is managed by Line Investment Properties, a sister concern of the LuLu Group. The mall houses several brands such as Splash, Baby Shop, Daiso, and Malabar Gold to name a few. Many more stores are expected to be in operation by the end of February 2014.
