LuLu, Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian & Charity Launch Gift Cards Worth Dh2.4 m

LuLu Hypermarkets, one of the largest retail chains in the Gulf and Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian & Charity Est. jointly launched the gift cards worth Dh2.4 million for poor people to help ease their problems, specially during the month of Ramadan.

The card, worth Dh800, will be distributed by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian & Charity Est will allow destitute citizens, nationals and non-nationals both, to buy food items and other essentials from all the Lulu Hypermarkets
across the UAE.

Under the programme 3,000 families will benefit from these cards, with a total value of Dh2.4 million. The card aim to distribute essential basic food items to needy families in the emirate of Dubai and the
Northern Emirates. An agreement to this effect was signed by Ibrahim Mohammed Bumelha, Vice- Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Yusuff Ali M.A., Managing Director of Emke Group of Companies on Wednesday.

“Our aim is to foster the spirit of Charity through out the holy month of Ramadan to help our fellow residents,” Yusuff Ali said. The card is a gesture from Shaikha Hind bint Juma Al Maktoum wife of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai to enhance the programme of Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum charitable and humanitarian foundation, which aims at supporting and assisting the destitute families in Dubai and the Northern Emirates during the holy
month of Ramadan.

“The programme is being implemented for the second time but for the first time a magnetised pre-paid card having Dh800 value will be used,” Ibrahim said. The card will be valid for two months. While explaining the reason to choose LuLu, Ibrahim said, “One of the reason is that their network is big and they have branches all over the UAE.
