In support of the declaration made by the rulers of UAE to celebrate 2016 as the year for reading, LuLu & DC Books joined hands to conduct a book fair as well as reading festival named ‘Readers World’ at LuLu Hypermarket, Al Barsha, Dubai, UAE, from 5th May 2016 onwards.
The book fair was inaugurated by Captain Khalal Ibrahim, Media Head, Dubai Emigration, in the presence of Mr. James K. Varghese, Regional Director, LuLu Group (Dubai & N.E), Mr. Jacob George, Manager, DC Books, and other officials of LuLu Group.
Mr. James K. Varghese stated, "We are very happy to do our bit of support to the visionary rulers of UAE in their initiative to celebrate this year as ‘Year for Reading’ by conducting this book fair in our Al Barsha outlet. If this effort helps to build a habit of reading in any person who visited this venue, we will consider it as a success of all of us, and this is the motive of conducting this book fair. Various authors from different countries will be attending the book festival in the coming days. Several sessions of discussions on books, poets’ gatherings, interactive sessions, meet and great the authors, question answer sessions, etc. are also planned as a part of this event.”
Book fair at LuLu Hypermarket, Al Barsha, will also be the venue for the international unveiling ceremony of the book ‘The Great Indian Diet’ written by famous Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty. Readers at the venue will have a chance to buy the signed copy of this book directly from the author.
Organizers have arranged books from all genres in this reading festival, such as Fiction, Non Fiction, Teenage Fiction, Children’s Books, Self Help, Travelogue, Cookery etc. Reading population of UAE has widely accepted this festival and this will end on 14th May 2016.
Malayalam author Mr. K.M. Abbas handed over his books to Captain Khaleel Ibrahim at the venue.
