LuLu signs MoU with Emirates Red Crescent to sell charity products

LuLu has signed an MoU with Emirates Red Crescent to market exclusive merchandise to raise funds for the needy, throughout the UAE. According to the MoU signed by Dr. Mohammed Atiq Al Falahi, Secretary General of Emirates Red Crescent and Yusuff Ali M.A., LuLu will sell products with Emirates Red Crescent branding across its stores in the UAE. The MoU was signed on 14 July 2014 at Abu Dhabi. Saifee T. Rupawala, CEO - LuLu Group, and Ashraf Ali M.A., Executive Director - LuLu Group, and other top officials of Emirates Red Crescent also attended the signing ceremony.

Emirates Red Crescent which is the apex humanitarian agency of UAE has spent more than Dhs. 6 billion in more than 100 countries. Their many initiatives and projects have brought joy and comfort to lives of millions of people affected by natural calamities, poverty, wars, conflicts and other tragedies.

Commenting on the MOU signed with LuLu, Dr. Mohammed Atiq Al Falahi said, "We want to involve more people from our community into the various charitable and humanitarian activities and this can best be achieved through reaching out to them. We have sourced some very useful and high quality products which will be liked by the shoppers in UAE. By purchasing these products, the local community will be contributing to our various initiatives world over."

The merchandise which will be available soon in LuLu Hypermarkets will include caps, T-shirts, bags, lanterns, badges, wallets, etc. and they will be priced moderately to get maximum support from people of different income groups. 

Yusuff Ali M.A. said, "We are hounoured to be chosen by Emirates Red Crescent to be their partner in this unique venture and we pledge maximum support throughout all our stores in the UAE by putting up dedicated stands to promote and sell these products."

LuLu will not be taking any portion of the sales proceed and the entire amount will be given to the Red Crescent as part of its CSR initiative.
